Red Clover

The Red Clover (Trifolium pratense) is a perennial plant that grows spontaneously from sea level up to 3000 meters altitude. Widely cultivated as a forage grass, in spring it produces many purple-red flowers covering meadows and pastures.

The name, Trifolium, refers directly to the appearance of the plant, whose stems carry three oval leaves, arranged as fingertips, with a characteristic V-shaped white spot on the upper surface.

Already known to the Greeks and the Romans and used for its healthy properties, since the mid-1900s it has attracted interest from the scientific community for its content in isoflavones. Today we know that its use can be useful in dealing with the problems associated with menopause.
