Each entry, accompanied by a detailed illustration of the plant, provides precise information on its habitat and botanical characteristics. It also indicates the parts used in herbal medicine, the chemical composition, the pharmacodynamic action, therapeutic use and dosage.
The final section of the book is entirely devoted to a series of indexes, listing all plants by botanical name, generic name, and dialectal names in Italian (broken down by region), French, English, German and Spanish.
